Salentein Primus Pinot Noir 2011 750ml
- $45.00 $78.00
Possibly the best Pinot made in Argentina! 90% of its grapes come from two plots specially selected from La Pampa estate, located 1300 masl. Vineyards were planted in 1997 with Pinot Noir grapes, Clones 667 and 115.
Grapes were hand-harvested and carried to the winery in 400kg plastic bins. Fruit was selected and destemmed. Besides, a previous maceration was carried out between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. Then, fermentation with selected active dry yeasts specific for Pinot Noir was performed between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. Fermentation was performed in 7,000-litre oak casks, including overpumping and pissage. Once fermentation was over, wine was racked to French oak barrels, where battonage took place until malolactic fermentation finished. Strawberry, cherry, spices and fresh menthol notes. Wide and delicate with natural acidity as well as a lingering and refreshing finish. All this results in a unique wine, outstanding elegance and balance.
