The perfect conditions of the region for the grapes’ growth, combined with the unique qualities of its plantations -located between 1.050 and 1.700 meters (3.500 and 5.600 feet) above sea level-, and its five different microclimates, give as a result wines of exceptional characteristics.
Portillo wines take their name from the historic mountain passage that connects the Andes with the Uco Valley, traversed by San Martín in its liberating deed, and then by the scientist Charles Darwin. Today, Portillo is also the best way to access through the wine to the fascinating terroir of Uco Valley.
